August 12, 2009 journal, we are losing longevity, banks abandoning their foreclosures. Life expectancy in America is about 78 years while in Japan it is 83 years. Most nations of Europe are at least two years ahead of us in average life expectancy. Japan spends one-third as much on health care as the United States per person. We are being exploited and we have been exploited for a long time by the insurance and pharmaceutical companies. Even though foreclosures are up 7 percent last month, banks are walking away from those houses they foreclose and leaving the burdens to the former owners who has already been evicted. Many of those properties contain violations of the environmentalists codes which carry fines and imprisonment. Banks depend on the court market to buy other foreclosed houses but now many of them do not sell at the auction for anything and the owner is then not informed that the bank is not taken title and also the responsibility for the property to pay the taxes and keep the pipes from freezing. Abandoned property almost always has a negative value and is most always vandalized. The city of Rochester N.Y. have sued 37 banks to make them take responsibility for the properties they have foreclosed to keep it up in a state of repair. These banks abandon the property like a bunch of cowards so as not to assume the financial responsibility. Why not just leave the people in their homes. If the bank has abandoned your foreclosure you probably can move back in because it is still in your name and you will not have a mortgage payment due if they are fair about it. the Masters Bank of Birmingham Alabama with 355 locations between Texas and Florida is on the verge of bankruptcy and closure owing BankAmerica $1 billion and is unable to function.
